We are very excited to welcome all of our new children to St. Andrew’s and look forward to getting to know you and your families over the next few weeks.
Please remember to bring your book bag and water bottle to school each day.
Our PE lesson will be on a Tuesday afternoon. PE bags can be left in school on your peg and we will send them home at half term for a wash!
For our final term in Foundation we are learning all about the seaside! We will be discovering the features of the seaside, learning about the creatures that live there and even having a pirate and mermaid adventure!
We were lucky enough to have an amazing workshop all about the continent of Africa with Kate from Tiny Travels. We were able to touch, smell and play with lots of different resources and instruments from countries across Africa.
During the Summer Term we have travelled across Africa learning all about Libya in the North, Kenya in the East, Congo in Central Africa, Zambia in Southern Africa and Ghana and Nigeria in West Africa. Here are some photos of our learning...
We read a book about a school map
We then looked at maps on the whiteboard
We made our own giant map of our local area
We added roads..
'Mini me' versions of ourselves..
and made our own houses!
Some children drew features onto the map
Some drew big houses
While others made their own maps
We soon had a whole town being built
There was lots of great team work and play!
We learnt all about Pantosaurus and the pants rules
Then made our own paper pants
We used lots of bright colours
Look at our super colouring!
We then hung our pants on the washing line!
We work our muscles climbing on the climbing frame..
We build with the big blocks..
We role play with our friends..
We make our own music..
And we work on our fine motor skills with scissors and tools..
We count and sort objects by size, shape or colour
We can count and order numbers
We weigh objects and order them by weight
We create timelines and notice changes over time
We continue repeating patterns..
..and create our own repeating patterns!
