Welcome to Foundation!

We are very excited to welcome all of our new children to St. Andrew’s and look forward to getting to know you and your families over the next few weeks. 
 

Please remember to bring your book bag and water bottle to school each day.
Our PE lesson will be on a Tuesday afternoon. PE bags can be left in school on your peg and we will send them home at half term for a wash!

Spring Term 2026

This term we are looking at the polar landscapes as well as all things cold and wintery!

We learnt about hibernation and discovered that some animals sleep through the winter. We then thought about how birds might find it tricky to find food in the winter. So, we made our own bird feeders by threading cheerios onto pieces of string. We then hung our bird feeders from the tree in our playground. 
 

We had a visit from a snowy owl who had travelled from the Arctic to meet us. We sat so quietly and took it in turns to gently stroke the owl. Afterwards, some children made their own owls and others made mice to feed our snowy owl visitor!
