At St Andrew's C of E Primary School, we believe that children learn best when they feel safe, valued and respected. Our approach to behaviour is rooted in our Christian vision:
"That they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10
We are committed to creating a school where every child can flourish academically, socially and emotionally. Our behaviour culture is built on positive relationships, clear expectations, consistency and a trauma-informed understanding of children's needs.
Our behaviour expectations of Calm, Kind and Ready to Learn are rooted in our Christian values of Compassion, Respect, Love, Truthfulness, Courage and Perseverance. We believe these values help children to flourish both academically and personally. Through positive relationships, high expectations and a culture of mutual respect, we support children to make good choices, show kindness towards others, take responsibility for their actions and develop the resilience needed to overcome challenges. Together, these values create a safe, supportive and inspiring environment where every child can experience life in all its fullness.
Our Behaviour Expectations
Our simple school-wide message is:

Children are supported to manage their emotions, regulate their behaviour and make positive choices.
🟢 Kind
Children show respect, compassion and consideration towards others through their words and actions.
🟣 Ready to Learn
Children are prepared, focused and willing to try their best, even when learning is challenging.
These expectations are explicitly taught, regularly revisited and reinforced throughout school life.

- Follow playground rules
- Use equipment responsibly
- Include others in games
- Speak respectfully
- Line up calmly when asked
