Young Carers at St. Andrew's

Young Carers Assembly Powerpoint

Our St Andrew's Young Carers' Group has been running for several years and we have had very positive feedback from those who attend. The children meet on alternate Thursday afternoons for an hour and have the chance to relax and chat while trying a range of new experiences, such as cooking, arts and craft, Forest School activities and other trips. They also meet with other Young Carers across the city. Our PSA, Nikki is leading the group, and is open to any new ideas or offers of support.

If you feel your child would benefit from joining the Young Carers' Group then please speak to a class teacher or contact Nikki directly at school.

Cerebra Information and advice service for parents of children with special educational needs and disabilities. They also help with applying for grants and form filling - including Disability Living Allowance forms.

Contact a Family Contact a Family support families, whatever their child's disability or health condition, with a wide range of life-changing help and class-leading services. There is a Freephone helpline for advice, support with medical information, they deliver workshops for parents, organise parent support groups and family days out.

Friends and Families of Special Children Support for the whole family, who have children that experience all forms of disabilities, additional needs and difficulties. What they do:-

National Autistic Society A leading UK charity for autistic people (including those with Asperger syndrome) and their families. They provide information, support and pioneering services for autistic people.

Plymouth Parent Carer Voice (PPCV) PPCV is a group of parents and carers of young people with disabilities and additional needs who come together to work in partnership with local authorities, education, health and social care providers, as well as other organisations to help create and improve the range and access for families to all services and support available to them in the Plymouth area.

Routeways Routeways provides valuable support to enable individuals, families, and communities to overcome barriers caused by disadvantage.
