The School Council were lucky to be invited to the unveiling of the Jack Leslie statue at Plymouth Argyle today. It was a wonderful celebration which included Jack Leslie's family, past Argyle players and many local dignitaries. Everybody cheered when the statue was unveiled - a memorable occasion.
As part of Black History month, we had a special visitor in assembly yesterday to celebrate the achievements of Jack Leslie, who played for Plymouth Argyle and scored 137 goals in the 1920s. Jack was called up to the England squad but was denied his place because of the colour of his skin. To find out more about Jack Leslie, follow this link;
